DEEP-CYCLE GEL BATTERIES
Deep Cycle Gel battery utilizes gel technology and combine latest AGM excellent process , componsed of strong grids, high purity lead and fumed silica Gel electrolyte with good cycle life and wide temperature range performance. The unique plate design and patented structure design provides the good frequent cyclic discharge performance
Gel batteries are called gel because they use silica (or sand) to turn the acid inside the battery into a thick liquid. This liquid does make it spill-proof, like our AGM batteries, but the gel is fragile, and can be easily burned if used in high amperage situations. Things like quick charging, high discharge, or other intense situations are all likely to cause serious damage to a gel battery, making it fail even if it’s barely used.
deep-cycle gel batteries are sealed, maintenance-free batteries that deliver superior power in demanding renewable energy applications. Engineered for rugged durability, outstanding performance and long battery life, deep-cycle gel batteries feature a number of important design characteristics that provide significant advantages over competing gel products. The gelled electrolyte is a proprietary formulation that delivers consistent performance and dramatically extends the battery’s cycle life. Lead alloy grids provide longer shelf life and superior corrosion resistance as well as deliver more concentrated energy to the terminals. Its premium grade, double-insulated separators allow maximum charge flow between the plates for optimum performance.

Gel Battery Performance
Gel batteries have low rate capacity (C20 to C3), as for AGM batteries if the design is comparable. Very long discharge rates, e.g., C120 for solar application, are possible due to the large electrolyte reserve. High rate discharge capacity can be smaller when compared with AGM technology due to limitation of plate distance and the resistance of the cell.
The self-discharge, especially in the absence of phosphoric acid, is very low: initially, the capacity loss is <0.1% day−1 and, after 2 years of storage, <30% (e.g., for a 100 Ah battery).
Gel batteries can be deep discharged, i.e., discharged below the specified cutoff voltage in extreme cases or down to zero volt, which will lead to a small capacity loss only after recharge.
Endurance in Cycling
Gel batteries achieve a cycle life up to 1000 cycles with 75% depth of discharge depending on design, especially of the positive plate (tubular or grid plate), the electrolyte composition, and the cycling regime. Gel batteries are robust against variations in the charging regime and the state of charge, making them very suitable for all types of outdoor cycling and solar applications.
Float Service Life (Stationary Applications)
Gel batteries with positive tubular plates achieve a proven service life in stationary applications of more than 15 years. At high temperatures, the behavior is excellent and the negative impact of high temperatures on high rate discharges is small as compared with AGM batteries.
